Obsidian - Is most often used as protection from harm caused by negative energies, phychic or emotonal attack. While it actually comes in many colors, black obsidian is most commonly recognized, and is known as the stone of truth for it is believed to reveal secrets in a persons subconcious. 
Quartz-Quartz - Is considered an amplifier of spiritual growth and wisdom. It is associated with all chakras, but mostly the crown Chakra as it is thought to help channel energy from the divine
Rose Quartz-Used for thousands of years for it's healing properties it is believed to promote self-love, inner healing, and harmony in relationships.  It is associated with the heart chakra and carrying it can help with healing grief or loss. 
Agate- Said to promote strength, inner calm, and courage. It is often connected with the sacral chakra, it is believed to help bring about emotional stability.  
Lapis Lazuli - Said to promote honesty, true communication and true sight. Connected to both the throat chakra and the third eye, it is also know as a wisdom and healing stone.
